TRAVERSE CITY HORSE SHOWS
The partnership between the Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and the Traverse City Horse Shows is a powerful embodiment of this spirit of collaboration. It is a celebration of the region’s diverse cultural heritage, of the deep connections between past and present, and of the shared responsibility to honor the land and its people. The Tribe’s ongoing support for the Horse Shows is not just about fostering events - it is about preserving and sharing the values of resilience, strength, and tradition that have always defined the Anishinaabe people.
TRAVERSE CITY PIT SPITTERS
Proud partner with the Traverse City Pit Spitters as the naming sponsor for Turtle Creek Stadium. The dynamic partnership supports our commitment to the local community and economy. We look forward to making an impact on the area’s experiences and opportunities for our visitors, as well as all of us who live, work and play in Traverse City.
The Pit Spitters are a Traverse City based baseball team in the Northwoods League, which originated in 2019. During the Pit Spitters’ inaugural year, they won their first championship on August 16, 2019.
NATIONAL CHERRY FESTIVAL
The National Cherry Festival began in 1925 as the “Blessing of the Blossoms,” the event was a way to celebrate the area’s abundant cherry crop. It’s one of the country’s largest and most popular festivals, drawing over 500,000 people in its eight days.
The festival is chock-full of fun and excitement. Thrill seekers will flock to the midway for rides and attractions. Vendors will serve up favorite food items, including Gibby’s Fries and smoked turkey legs plus a variety of fare from local restaurants. Premier performers take center stage for live concerts. Grand Traverse Resort & Casinos is a proud sponsor of The National Cherry Festival partnering to provide concerts, golf events, and a Native American Heritage Day.
TRAVERSE CONNECT
Traverse Connect is the lead economic development organization for the Grand Traverse region, which supports area businesses through a combination of business attraction and retention strategies, talent development efforts, and strategic coordination among partner agencies. Traverse Connect continues the legacy and the leadership of the Traverse City Area Chamber of Commerce, strengthening its focus on serving all businesses with a comprehensive suite of programs and services.
